We all think animals don’t have dreams, right? Well then, we’re wrong! Totally wrong. Here’s why …

For the fifth time, two days ago, I went to the QC Civil Registrar’s Office (with my daughter in tow). I made sure that we arrive there during office hour so as not to bother them during their break.

1. “Kung hindi mo mahal ang isang tao, wag ka nang magpakita ng motibo para mahalin ka nya.” (Pwera lang kung isa kang magaling na actor at user na naghahanap ng masasandalan. You know … tagalibre ng dinner at kung anu-ano pa.)

At the age of 3, he was left in an orphanage. At the age of 5 he ran away because he was beaten by people who are supposed to take care and protect him. 

Monologues – because I never knew how to answer back or if Bianca, then 5, really needed some answers. Hahaha.

“Ayaw ko talaga tong PE uniform ko mommy kasi ang laki ng tyan ko dito. Dapat pag PE, naka gown na lang ang girls.”

BIANCA: Oh, mommy … what’s the big idea? The same lang yun … Pag check, ibig ko sabihin, YES. Pag X, ibig ko sabihin NO. Di pala nakakainitindi si Teacher Elvs.

BIANCA: Hindi po ‘yun mom. Di mo ba ‘ko pwede ibili ng maraming fit ‘n right snacks? Pampa diet yun e.

BIANCA: Ay naku ang iba jan magsusumbong lang mali pa! MILK, hindi MELK BATH!
ME: Bakit mo nilaro ‘yung milk bath mo?
BIANCA: Alam mo mwaam (mom) minsan gusto ko rin magrelax no. Kaya nilagay ko sa timba tapos nilagyan ko ng water tapos nilagay ko ‘yung paa ko dun. Alam mo mwaam ang sarap pala magrelax ng paa.

ME: Hahahahaha oo, bakit?.

YAYA: Twinti por.
BIANCA: Twinti por kana di mo pa masabi ang twenty four ng tama. Ano kaya ‘yun.

BIANCA: Tapos 24 years ka na kumakain ganyan lang katawan mo. Ako nga 5 years pa lang kumakain ganito na katawan ko.

BIANCA: Sus, yung story book ko nga na pambata di mo maintindihan dahil English e, yan pa kayang work ni mommy? Manood ka na lang ng Beinte Kwatro Oras saka Pilyang Kerubin pagkatapos ng balita.

Got any maldita moments to share? Here are some I got from my mail, friends, and personal experience.

Bianca went with me to the office. From Marikina to Ortigas, then Ortigas to Marikina, she was talking. It’s like everything she sees has a story behind it – the billboards, the trees, the car ahead of us, people crossing. Name it, and she can say a mouthful about them. Grrrr!

Since Bianca was 2 years old, she already amazed me with her one-liners. 

As Richard Carlson wrote, one of the simple ways to keep the little things from taking over your life is to choose your battles wisely. Let me share with you Carlson’s thoughts written in his book Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff.

Okay, these conversations happened today. I’m learning fast from my daughter – the crazy way.

After mass, ang unang isinalubong sa akin ng yaya ni Biang – “Ate, sinuntok ni Bianca si Jetjet.”

La lang … kung minsan naririnig natin tong mga nakakabwisit na dialogue na to.

Wala ako magawa … naghanap ako jokes … eto share ko para di na kayo maghanap pa.

Eto pa ibang katatawanan.

Para sa mga pasaway din na ate ni Bianca sa cyberworld – Ate Gie, Ate Joy, Ate Tala… at Tita Nic bwahaha. Teka, teka, para din pala kay chatmate Kenshin. Para sa inyo, bow!

This morning, Bianca gave me some new lessons on “vocabulary” and “spelling”.

Today is Bianca’s first day as a school girl. Before leaving for the orientation, I told myself “Bing, brace yourself.”

Second day ng school. Kapagod mag type kaya pakinggan nyo na lang si Bianca.

Ay salamat may narinig din akong “very good talaga si Bianca”. Hahaha

Because Bianca loves YouTube, I haven’t been able to give some Bianca updates, which I do at home. Anyway, here are some anecdotes from who else …

Bianca came home with 4 big stars last Tuesday, a day after they had a test. Eto ang resulta:

When Bianca woke up this morning, she hugged me and blurted out something that touched me big time.

Grabacious ha! Last blog ko pala was almost three months ago pa! Ano ba nangyari? Sayang marami pa naman sana ako kwento.

Kids are great until they become teenagers! You may have read these somewhere but I still wanna make you laugh.

He was a cyberfriend at first, and a fellow chatroom buff for some time. Then I personally met him at Mucho’s KTV Bar on January 16, 2009, along with other Chasters. 

Bianca’s Ma’am Riza gave her a sticker for being a “very good girl” (i can see eyes rolling) in school. She then excused herself and went to the restroom to put the sticker on her ID.

Few things make me cry. Seldom do I get depressed. But “Typhoon Ondoy’s” wrath was too much to bear; I had to cry every time I look at the news.

Relief goods are distributed by different foundations and groups in evacuation centers around Marikina, but unfortunately, some of the villages haven’t received any help so we had to reach out to them. Thank you, CHARIFIED, for the help.

Edward Luthe

Seven years and ten months ago, I lost my dear Edward Luthe four weeks before I was to give birth to him. I wrote this poem a few weeks after that. It was a hard, rocky road to recovery. Or have I really gotten over the loss?

I last laid my eyes on Edward on 05-25-02; I first set my eyes on Bianca on 02-25-05. What’s with the numbers? I’ve always believed that it was God’s way of taking away some of the pain inside me.

Here goes …

Been busy with work since I got two jobs.
