For the fifth time, two days ago, I went to the QC Civil Registrar’s Office (with my daughter in tow). I made sure that we arrive there during office hour so as not to bother them during their break. I went Directly to a certain “DAISY” who was the last person we talked to less than a month ago. This government employee was deep into solving a crossword puzzle from the tabloid BULGAR although when we were a few feet away from her desk, I thought she was buried in some important official paper work.
Our conversation went this way. (GE is for Daisy, the Government Employee)
ME: Good afternoon po. Pakita ko lang yung documents from Vigan CFI.
GE: (without looking up) Para saan?
ME: Eto po (handing her the documents.)
GE: Bakit ganito? Aanhin ko ‘to?
ME: Yan ang nirequire nyo eh. Eto ‘yung paper na pinagsulatan mo. (So natameme sya kasi nakita nya hand writing nya eh.)
GE: (Flipping through the papers) E nasan ang finality?
Then I went to another table just beside this a**h*** Daisy. The desk was owned by a certain Ms. Den B. She was very accommodating and immediately stood up to find documents and log books and led us to their supervisor’s (Sir Jun) desk to get some advice for the next “steps”.
Government employee Daisy began joining the conversation and gave her unsolicited advice and some assumptions on my case. I just stared hard at her. If looks could kill, I tell you, she should be six feet under the ground now.
Next week, I’m going back there. I’ll make sure I have my digicam with me and put a face to this government employee in this blog.
